Ah, its summertime and the days get longer, the wardrobe gets lighter. Yes, there is a big change in climate so your skin require a some extra care. During summer the warm condition can leave your skin contending with excess sweat and exposure to damaging sun rays which are very harmful to the skin. So there should be some strategic changes to your daily skincare regimen to combat the ill effect of summer and keep our skin health.

1. Lighten up your skin-care routine
One of the best way to protect our skin from heat and humidity of summer means you can swap out a heavier cleanser (think cream or oil cleanser) in favor of a gentle, foaming option.
2. Adopt a dual-purpose moisturizer
To help lighten things up, Dr.Kavitha recommends that switching to a combination moisturizer and sunscreen during the summer is useful. She says “ A moisturizer with lightweight, SPF of 30 or higher may be useful to many people”
3.But don’t stop moisturizing completely.
Do not count those extra sweats on your face as moisturizer.” In summer despite the weather being hot and humid you still need to moisturize,” says Dr.Kavitha, dermatologist and director of Sk truderma at Bangalore. Even though, if your skin already feels oily, you should always follow cleansing with a moisturizer.
“Moisturizer is useful because its reestablish the stratum corneum, which is the outer layer of skin. Its protect from harmful pollutants and chemicals and prevents further irritation or dryness “ says Dr.kavitha.
4. Vitamin C is must in summer
Vitamin c is very important, but it is very much useful in summer. Vitamic C prevents
- Hyperpigmentation
- Improve the appearance of fine lines
- Help with collagen production.
5. Cut down your shower time
“In summer we usually like to take more bath but over-showering, or showering in water that is too hot, can lead to over-drying your skin. This in turn can lead to inflammation and even summertime eczema,” says Dr Kavitha.
6-Use makeup that is non-comedogenic
Non-comedogenic its means product formulated without pore-clogging ingredients , Try to use only those which are non-comedogenic. Dr Kavitha recommends “We should wear makeup that is not going to occlude the skin. Some options like an oil-free primer, a powder sunscreen
7. Try to stay in the shade
Try to stay more in shade and avoid direct sunlight. Direct sunlight’s are very harmful to our skins. All our experts recommend their patients wear sun-protective clothing, wide-brim hats, and sunglasses in the sun
8. Don’t forget to hydrate
Hydration is always important for our skin but it is very much essential for us to keep our skin hydrated in summer. Dr.Kavitha recommends to drink at least 8 glass of water in day to get better result
9-SPF, SPF, SPF
This is the most important tips or recommendations that don’t leave your home without applying sunscreen. Dr.Kavitha recommends that broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 is very useful. Sunscreen should be applied all part of the body and needs to be reapplied every couple of hours, for better results
